Plant printing, also known as "pounding grass printing" in China, originates from ancient dyeing and printing techniques in the Ming and Qing dynasties. This unique method, inspired by nature, enhances clothing and is a significant part of Chinese intangible cultural heritage. The name "pounding grass printing" comes from its key processes and materials. "Pounding" and "printing" refer to the technique, while "grass" and "flowers" represent the plants used. Together, these elements tell a story and convey emotion.

In this process, naturally growing flowers and plants are carefully chosen. Through pounding, the shapes and colors of the plants are transferred onto fabric, preserving their beauty and reflecting the Chinese cultural belief in harmony between humans and nature. The result is a vivid display of the natural world, with each hammer strike revealing the essence of the plants and their deep beauty.

Today, hammers are mainly used to pound herbaceous plants, releasing their natural colors and imprinting them onto fabric. Each plant brings its own unique color and fragrance, adding charm to the final print. These prints create one-of-a-kind patterns, showcasing nature's elegance.

This craft not only carries forward ancient traditions but also honors nature. Wearing clothing adorned with plant prints connects people to the beauty of nature and the rich cultural heritage it represents.
